Way to create dynamic text on a GeoMap in Design Studio?

Hello,

I'm fairly new to Design Studio. I'm creating a GeoMap to show the locations of stores using latitude and longitude, and layering these based on different time periods (ytd, ptd, etc.). What I'm looking to do is have text that sits on top of the bubble (using a bubble chart currently, however that may change) or above the bubble that displays the correlating store name or number.

Does anyone have any experience with this? The stores that are shown on the map will change, as these are new stores that have an open date of today minus one year. So it is constantly being updated.

I'm currently using the custom CSS component to change the bubble color, etc. when one is selected. I'm assuming it will be related to this, but am struggling to figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Haley,

At the moment, the standard Geo Map component only supports displaying labels as tooltips on hover, as you have probably discovered. You might, and I emphasise might, be able to display labels on the bubbles based on dynamic data using the techniques described in the blog Generate CSS code dynamically in Design Studio with the Community Package.

However, if the labelling is an important enough business requirement, I would recommend that you evaluate the geo mapping partner add-ons available on the SAP App Center, rather than attempting to jump through CSS hoops to try to add labels to the map bubbles.

    Regards,

    Mustafa.
