SAP SYBASE Database backup server is not started

Hi Experts,

I want to setup DR system and database is Sybase 16.0, i had taken the dump database and load the database in DR System, after that backup server is not started,

Error log

No server log file open; Using stderr for log.

The "failed to start network listener" error typically means some other process already is using the network port assigned to the backupserver.
Often this means that the backupserver is already up and running, but sometimes it really is some other program entirely.

If it isn't just a case of backupserver already running an easy workaround is to modify the interfaces file (manually with a text editor or using the desedit utility) to change the port number; then try booting backupserver again.

Thanks Bret,

I have changed the backup server port from 4902 to 4904, Now backup server is up and running.

But I have received an another error: - Java instance is not started

There isn't any java involved in the ASE<-> Backupserver connection itself.
Where is the error being raised, what client are you using?
