OData Services

I am really fresh in SAPUI5 and I am a bit lost with all the configurations, JavaScript and so on. The point is that I am calling the OData Service from the Destination I have created in my Web IDE. (

I have defined in the manifest.json the "dataSources" and I have declared in the view the tag: <Text text="{Product>Name}" /> but it doesn´t appear within the screen.

I have one week reading docs and I cannot make it. Could you please redirect me to a link where I could find an example for getting the OData and map the values in Text /Input or another non-complex object?. With the templates works smoothly but I have a lot of issues when I assign the value to a single Text...
Kind regards,

Hello Raúl,

Since you are new to SAPUI5, I would suggest that you build an app based on a Web IDE templates. This would guide you through the service configuration and afterwards you could inspect the generated code to see how it works.

Best regards

my point is, I want to create a OData Service where we can receive a structure and based on a specific field in it, we will display an error message or a table with different values.

The templates shows how to work with List Items/Tables in different ways but, I cannot find any good doc about how to manage my structure and presenting the values in the views. I have read so many blogs, so many courses (from webIDE and OpenSAP) but every time I saw how to manage single values, are defined as.json within the app. I have like 2 weeks fighting against this and I didnt find a good point of documentation.

BTW, I am using the web IDE editor not any eclipse add-on or whatever...

Thanks for the inputs!!!
