Output records More then 64K - Trying Excel 7.00 with BW 3.5 NW 2004

Hi All,

We have a requirement where the report output runs into more the 64K records. Since Excel 2003 is not capable of retrieving more then 64000 rows, we are trying to run it on Excel 7.00.

Our current setup is : -

SAP Netweaver BI 3.5 SP18

We tried with

Sapgui 6.4 with patch 25 and bw 3.5 with patch 18 - did not work - error at 65443

Sapgui 7.1 with patch 2 and bw 3.5 add-on with pact 1 - did not work - error at 65443

The MS Operating System & MS Office Compatibilities with BEx as given below

This shows that SABW 3.5 can work only upto Excel 2003. It does not mention anything about Excel 7.00.

Does this mean that we have to live with the 64K barrier ?

Questions

Can we work on Excel 7.00 ? , if Yes what needs to be installed to do this ?

Can sombody suggest what needs to be done to satisfy our > 64 K record requirement.
