How to create target variable?

I wanted help on the churn part. I have to realize a demo in the telecom field.

My question is how to create the target variable (churn = 1 and not churn = 0) on the client data? In fact this variable is not available on the dataset.

Kind Regards.

Hi Souleymane, I do no fully understand your question, sorry. The target variable has to be deduced from customer movement. If the customer is not a longer a customer of the company, he would be considered "churner", hence the value of the field churn would be 1.

Kind regards

Hi Antoine,

Thank you for that answer.

Effectively, if the customer is no longer customer it is considered "churner". But if it happens for example that the company has never done this kind of study while it has its customers who are there, how it could distinguish customers "churners" and not "churner"?

Kind Regards.

Hi, typically this is done over time. For instance you take a snapshot of the customer database at a given point of time and see which of these "churned" over time. Our Data Manager is typically of great help to manage such workflows.

Kind regards

Ok Antoine.

In fact I just discovered the SAP PA tool and I thought of Data Manager to create the target variable if there isn't on the dataset. That's why I ask this question for more clarification view that I am novice on the solution.

Kind Regards.

And How Data Manager manage its workflows? Will you have a guide where I can refer?
