Configuring the material determination

settings:

ImgSales and distributionbasic functionsmaterial determinationmaintain setings for the material determination

Then create condition tables for mataerial entered

create access

create conditin type by copying the standard <b>a001</b>

create the procedure for the material deterination

then create the substitution ( take 0005 promotion) with options A/B

go to t code <b>vbn1</b> for creating the condition records and then enter the material for which the material determimation should done then enter the alternative material

goto vao1 and raise the sales order and see the effect of the material determination

Material Determination:

Order material can be swapped with the other material.Ex: with the user specified material A in the sales order material B can be given to customer

With the business stopped the production of existing material , we can swap with new material or existing material can be offered with special packing or it can be used with EAN number

SAP uses condition technique to do material determination

Configuration settings:

Path: Logistics—sales and distribution—Master data—Products—Material Determination—VB11-Create

Specify material determination type=A001

Click on key combination

Specify the validity periods

Specify proposed reasons EX: 0005-Promotions

Specify MATWA material Entered-779

Materail=745

Select line item

Click on alternative materials icon and list out alternative materials with unit of measure as well as MRP indicates as 745,746 etc materials

Save it

Go to VA01 and raise the sales order for 799 materials and check material determination

Select any one of substitute material ex: 745 or 746

Material determination enables you to carry out the following tasks during sales order processing:

Automatically substitute materials

Automatically determine and offer the user a selection of products based on pre-defined conditions

SPRO-SALES AND DISTRIBUTION-BASIC FUNCTIONS---MATERIAL DETERMINATION.

go to t code OVRQ, maintain the folowing details

1.entry:whether u want the material enterede to display in the output.

2.warning: whether u want thge system to issue a warning when the material is swapped.

3.substitution : what is the substitution strategy u want to follow--automatic or manual.

4.outcome: what is the substitution outcome u want to see , only in the sales order or in the delivery .
