Characteristic in a Hierarchy

Dear All,

I have the requirement to provide a hierarchical report (output via RSRT temporarily). The report should have the following layout:

[HIERARCHY-Column| (0..n optional) Characteristics|(1..n) Key Figures]

The hierarchy is virtually defined in ABAP. Due to specific business requirements, the BW enabled aggregation is completely disabled. Instead the data is read via a HANA Calculation View directly from a pre-calculated data-set.

Question: The BW standard is automatically moving all characteristic values of leaves upwards to the parent nodes. Example:

Parent-Node

  • Child-Node 1 |Characteristic 1
  • Child-Node 1 |Characteristic 2

In this example the BW standard automatically moves characteristic 1 and 2 value to the parent-node (which also makes sense under normal circumstances). In my case should be avoided by all costs. Unfortunately the only workaround I found is to supress zero-node values, which has negative consequences on the consistency of the hierarchy itself.

Does anyone know if it is possible to avoid the characteristic "expand" to parent nodes?

Thanks,

Timo
