T331 entry for warehouse number GDC and storage type not found

We are trying to do Transfer posting material to material in HUMO but the HU is not linked with a storage unit as our system is HU managed. Can you please help me find what is the reason for this error "T331 entry for warehouse number GDC and storage type not found"

wrong tag, this is not an EWM question. Add the tag Logistics Execution and you might get an answer.

This is a non-assigned HU without storage unit. Is storage unit linkage necessary for an article to article posting. If so please help me how to link the storage unit for a non-assigned HU. I ran RLTREORG2 report to check for inconsistency in Warehouse and the storage unit. It displayed that storage unit with this HU number to be created with change in the quantity. Please help me how to approach this issue. Thanks.

Hello Venkatesh,

I understand you conducting Material to material transfer 309 mvt type. This will create posting change notice based on configuration you have done in Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Interfaces -> Inventory Management -> Define Movement Types -> LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management. Please check the control parameters what you have set.

Also when you conduct material to material transfer 309 in IM, material goes to interim storage area 922. Please check if your if

entry of 922 storage type to your warehouse is maintained or not?

Thanks for the response. Material to material posting is done well in Live for many years. So I don't think there should be any issue with the 309 movement type.

The error message has no value for the storage type (if you did not remove this value while posting here)

Based on that SAP is searching exactly for a combination of warehouse GDC and storage type blank in your T331 table and does not find this combination and issues the error that you have.

Is your material master correct maintained with a storage type indicator?

Is the storage type determination (OMLY) setup based on the material master entries ?

So you want to say you have an entry in T331 for warehouse GDC with no value in the storage type field?

No. There is no entry in T331 with storage type blank. What I meant is while posting, HUMO is unable to get the storage type of the handling unit. So it queries T331 with warehouse and storage type as blank. I think the storage type indicator for the storage type is not maintained. I checked the T334T table for the warehouse and the storage type combination but there is no entry, could this be the issue?

sure it can be - if the storage type determination could not find a storage type then the storage type field is blank and the next check with a blank storage type on T331 is going to fail.

instead of executing OMLY find the IMG path, which is Logistics Execution > warehouse management > strategies > ...

And in front of the IMG activity is a documentation icon. And here everything is explained.

Jürgen L, please tell me, is a storage unit mandatory for a material to material posting? Does a handling unit in all cases have a storage unit of the same number in HU managed warehouse?

I can't tell anything about HU Management as I never worked with it, I just focused on the message because a variable is missing. Since you always came back saying everything is fine and maintained I can't help you further, except that I can tell you a material to material movement is working in my system without a need to have storage units or HU management active.

yes. Storage unit is mandatory. when you do 309, from (HU+ WM) managed location, since Quant information is changing, hence in this case, an outbound delivery with Posting change delivery, delivery type HTP will be created.

I had replicated this scenario last Friday moving a material from unrestricted to block(344 type) in a HU+WM managed location. Material is moved to 922 interim posting area with confirmation of TO, materials goes to blocked stock. Your case is also very similar.

Are you conducting transfer posting from {HU+WM} managed location to {Non HU} managed location through HUMO? Please confirm.

If the Issue storage location is WM managed, then you need to build the settings in LE-->WM--> Master Data-->Define Storage type

Thanks for the response. The material location is not changed but only changing the old material number with the new material number using the material to material posting. The storage type is already defined in (LE-->WM--> Master Data-->Define Storage type). Please let me know what could be the issue.
