SAP system has slow down

Hi sir,

Sub: Poor SAP performance.

SAP system has slow down dramatically since the recent update, this is particularly noticeable when working with large quotes/orders with a lot of lines.they are facing the problem since 3 months.

For example, even using the SAP client loaded on "live server system" opening Sales Order "XYZ" takes over a minute, then even updating one line and saving it causes the system to process all 246 lines in the order which again takes over 1 minutes to save the order.

I’ve checked both the performance of both the SAP server and the SQL server during these operations and am not seeing any CPU/Memory spikes to explain these performance issues. Please help for the same.

regards,

Datta P.

Hi Datta P,

The kind of poor performance you are describing can have different reasons, but the first thing you need to check is if the customer has added a formatted search (FMS) on the row level of the quote and/or order forms.

If they have added such a FMS on the row level, take a look at the corresponding delivery or invoice form (assuming that the FMS was not added to these forms). If the FMS is not in these forms, they should be a lot quicker with the same amount of lines.

If there is a FMS on the row level of the quote and/or order forms, you should consider removing them. You can test the theory by restoring a backup to a test database, and removing the FMS there.

Johan
