Restoring deleted standard depreciation key

Former Member

Hi SAP experts,

The standard depreciaiton key 0000 has been deleted from the chart of depreciation. Is there a possibility to restore it by copying it from SAP delivered chart of depreciation (e.g. 1BE)? I am not very happy from the fact that I have to recreate it manually...

Thank you!

Maria,

The only way that i can think of restoring the deleted standard depreciation key to the same chart of depreciation is to transport the depreciation key table from another client. From a client (i.e. SBX, DEV, QAS, etc...) in which the depreciation keys are exactly the same and the standard depreciation key "0000" still exists, within transaction AFAMA, click on Table View -> Transport. Create a transport object and have an ABAP expert apply or migrate it to the client in which the depreciation key was deleted.

Thanks,

Chad

Dear Maria,

In IMG under

Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Depreciation -> Valuation Methods -> Depreciation Key -> Maintain Depreciation Key -> Choose Chart of Depreciation (1BE) -> Choose the Depreciation Key 0000

or Transaction AFAMA

Maintain the same entries for Depreciation Key in other Depreciation Area as well. There are not many parameters for Depreciation Key and this should not a problem.

Fields:

Maximum amount

Cutoff val. key and

Acq. only allowed in capitalization year

No. of Places

Check boxes:

No Ordinary Dep. with Special Dep

No Interest if no Deprec. is planned

Period Control according to Fiscal Years

Dep. to the day

No Reduct. in short year

The depreciation key consists of the following:

 • Calculation method for the automatic calculation of interest, ordinary and special depreciation

 • Possibly a cutoff value key

 • Various control indicators

Naveen.

Hi,

Try this -

Execute transaction code AFAMA

Determine similar depreciation key (LINA will work in most cases)

Copy this key using copy icon next to 'New entries' button

Double-click on Assignment of calculation methods to review settings
