Hi!
I am installing two systems (SAP SOLMAN) with the same Oracle version.
<b>How should I set the Oracle home and the Listener entry port (double entry or only one) and how should I proceed with SAPINST-installation?</b>
The second question:
we have 64 Bit Windows and have to install SAP ERP2005.
<b>Which java-version should we apply, the one for 64 Bit or the other for 32 Bit windows, if we install only ABAP-part?</b>Basically we need the java for the SAPINST is not?
Because we do not have any Java-components. We install only ABAP-stack
Thank you!
regards
It depends how you will install.
- you can install several DB in one ORACLE_HOME, in this case only one listener will be used with different port configuration
- if you decide to use 2 HOMEs, you will install also second listener.
But while using multiple Oracle homes, you have to take care about the environment of SAP systems. Each system environment must contain only one home (also links in environment variables - PATH etc.) Theoretically you can also configure one listener for both homes, ´but I do not think this for good idea.

Yes, you need JAVA_HOME for SAPINST.
So far you need 64bit (native for your platform) JAVA.
Do not use 32bit java (even it would work) for x64 platform.
Thank you!
