personalize a portal page

in ESS/MSS individual pages/fields can be shown or hidden by using the keys CONTROL and RIGHT-CLICK on the field that needs to be modified. Is this a Portal component feature? Where is this information stored? are the settings available for all users (not just for the user that performed the modification)?

thanks bala, I could not find the answer i was looking for in your links. however, thanks for your effort. I was able to find the answer myself: the configuration resides in the webdynpro component as per the webdynpro specification. cheers.
