error recording and tracking

Hi,

I had a hard time to indicate an error to you. Someone told me that the procedure of choice is to click on "Contact us" on the main SDN page, then follow the link "SDN/BPX Community support area" and finally click on "email" on the very bottom of the text to get an email pop-up addressed to you.

What about an "error"-icon on every page or frame? If something goes wrong, people only have to click on the error icon, and a pre-formatted email is generated, which already contains the reference information and people just have to add their comment. Together with a bug tracking system, this would allow a comfortable error tracking, making the error correction process quite transparent for the user.

My opinion: we get complex, but still error-sparse software only, if we empower the user to indicate the errors to the developers easily.
