Serial no. Profile for Material Group

Hi PP Gurus,

I want to give serial no. for material grp not for individual materials.

Like we have 3 Types of mat grps DC motors , AC Motors & AC Gen.

Client wants to give serial no for entire DC motors( under this grp some 30 types of mat r there) starting with 200700001 .......... like that.

I tried for mat grps its not taking.

Thanks in Advance......

    Hi

You can use product hierarchy for your grouping instead of serial #s

    motors -- AC motors

    -- DC motors -- 30 types

    -- AC gens

Explore the product hierarchy and you can use for your grouping and coding!

    hope this helps

    Hi,

Define material groups, Max 999 available ( 3 digits ).

Out of all digits, devide as first 2 digits for raw, bought out, consumbles etc.

then group 3 digits dc motors, ac motors etc. When u create a material follow the sequence & select related group.

When you search a material by group enter group or raw mat.group* so that u can find out total list.

    Pl. revert again.

    regards,

    Suhas
