Abhishek,

Well there is no trail version available . If you have Seeburger Product in your PI system then you can ask Seebruger support team to share that Tool with you.

Hi Manoj,

Thanks for response.

Can you please let me know BIC mapping tool is required for mapping which converts EDI to EDI-XML or vicersa. I believe if we don't use this and take care of all mapping needs via standard PI mapping (Message / XSLT / JAVA), we can meet our interfacing needs.

Is there any scenario which you have come across where we need to mandatorily use BIC Mapping tool?

Hi Abhishek,

Usually all the standard BIC Mapping i.e Mapping required to Convert EDI-->EDI_XML and vice versa are given by seeburger which should be already deployed in your PI system all you need to do is call these bic mappign in your module . In case if you have any custom EDI type that is not provided by Seeburger then you need to have the BIC mappign tool to desgin that particular custom BIC Mapping.

Hi Manoj,

I understand all the modules (with parameters) that are provided by Seeburger to be used in the adapter are specified in the documentation that they provide. Please confirm.

Also at the moment to use EDI, we have the option of deploying Seeburger into SAP PI / PO or do we have any other approach also available.

Abhi

Abhishek,

Yes all the required modules with parameters are clearly mentioned in Documentation.

But if you ask me whether to choose Seeburger or B2B i would say at this time its better you go with SAP B2B Addon which is capable of handling EDI conversions . But B2B Addon comes for free if you have PO license if you have only PI license you need to pay please check with your SAP Product manager to discuss more on this licensing part.

The reason why i am proposing SAP B2B Addon over Seeburger is that SAP wont suppport any Seeburger components from 2020 you can find more on this Here. In case if you go with seeburger then you may need to have to migrate back them to B2B Addon at some time so why not go with B2B Addon.

To add one more use case:
You would also need BIC mapping designer if you want to adjust the standard classifier mappings. One reason for that could be that you want to extend the key component that are used in the Seeburger splitter table to allocate the sender agreement. Another case that I came across was to support EDIFACT syntax version 3 and 4 UNB segments on the same system.

For regular EDI standards flat <=> XML conversion, you should not have to touch the standard mappings and would therefore not need the tool.
