Hi All,
Can we assign a standard Infocube to a Planning area? or is it mandatory to assign a real time cube to the Planning Area.
Ankur
Hello Ankur,
You can assign a standard cube to a planning area. However, you can NOT write data to it. You can only use it as a source of data. A standard cube is usually used in a multi-planning area setup where there is a Planning area connected to a trans cube and another Planning area connected to a standard cube.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
In standard Planning area ,we can assign only Transactional InfoCube.
In Multiplanning area , we can assign both basic and transactional infocube.
Under multiplanning area , you have level you can get the data from basic cube and do your functions (copy, exit etc..) and write the data into transactional cube.

Siva.

hi Siva,
what you write is only partially correct.
A Standard Planning Area can be assigned to Basic Cubes, Transactional Cubes and MultiProviders.
several standard planning areas can be included in a multi planning area.
You have to make sure, that at least one planning area that read and wirtes to a transactional cube is included.
Writing of data works only through a planning area that leads to a transactional cube.
regards
Cornelia
