calculation of fiscal year

if the posting date is 06/2007 for india , which has the fiscal year from april-march will it come under fiscal year 2006 or 2007 ? i see it as 2007 in the documentation and for US posting date 06/2007 i see it as 2007 how are these calculated?

They are maintiang as variants for each company code

Try to look at FM : 'ME_DETERMINE_GJAHR' -> this fm will give fiscal year
