Physical Inventory of E-Stock - Non-standard useage

Hello, friends,

I have a requirement to find a way for our users to perform physical inventory on E-Stock (special stock indicator E), but we use that indicator a bit differently than intended.

Our normal PI process is MI31, MI21, MI04, MI20, MI11 and a final MI20, as usual.

MI31 explicitly excludes E-Stock, so I proposed using MIE1, but the response from the user who was testing it was:

"When creating the count sheets an individual sheet is generated for each sales order that exists for inventory held in sloc being counted. This could generate hundreds of count sheets which would have staff searching many pages to record a count. Also, this would only capture stock held on sales orders, not any *COMPANY* owned stock if it were held at the location. Staff needs to be able to get a PI count sheet that sorts by batch then material."

This is batch-maintained stock, and we use the batch number to indicate where in the storage tanks it is located (wedge and location- top or bottom).

So I am left with several questions:

  • Is there a way to either get MIE1 to work without the Sales Order restriction?
  • Is there another T-Code that would work for this?
  • Is there a way to get combined count sheets?
  • Is there a way to change the sort order on the count sheets?

Thank you for any help.

had you already looked about the settings made behind the button Details in the Sorting section of the MEI1 selection screen?

I have. They want to list the materials for an entire Plant / SLoc sorted by Batch and then Material.

None of the available sort options will meet their needs.

More importantly, though, is that the selection does not include any materials that are not on a Sales Order. There are cases where we have E-Stock that is not on a Sales Order, and they are excluded by MI31, so I started to look at MIE1, as it is intended to count special stocks.

How can a sales order stock (special stock E) be without sales order?

You have to modify the program if you want a different sorting. This is not customizable
