Access J2ee Engine and NWDS from other systems

hi,

I have Instaled the SAP J2ee Engine and NWDS in a system and cofigured it to work on the same system.

can i access this server from the other systems also?? do i need to intsal only NWDS on those system? we have Lan network and plz suggest me how can i connect the same.,

Hi Mahesh...

You have to install NWDS on the specific system in which you are going to work.. and from that system u can access the server...

can u plz tell in NWDS ,do i need to configure as remote Host in windows to Access the server in other system, and which host and port no i need to entere there.

You have to configure on remote host only by giving remote server host and port address...

hi,

i have conmfigured NWDS in other system and enterd the post and mess server as in server system but how can i check the same whether its connected to server or not,

Go to Windows->Open View ... SAP Clusters View

You can see whether the server is conencted there.

hi,

i tried for the same but there is no Viwe and Cluster Viwe in windows...but there is a Show view...? i tried from show view and cliked on J2ee engine..its showing the engine on other system.

is there any other wahy to find out the same.

HI

Go to the windows>showview>j2ee engine view to know the status of j2ee engine

To configure j2ee windows>preference >Sap J2EE Engine

HI

Yes you have configured j2ee engine correctly

in the j2ee engine you can see the status of dispatcher , sdm , server0..

You can see the following at the right of the j2ee engine view

For ex..

Process

Name SDM

State Running

SDM Port 50018

hi,

ya i can see the same but message server port is 3900 and the first two nodes ( Remote engine and message server host node are not ingreen but i can see all Process

SDM

SDM Port 3900 are in green....

do i need to change posr tp 50018

Hi

Please check the status of the dispatcher , sdm ,server0 in state tab there you can find the state like Running, stopped etc.

Then try to develop some sample webdynpro application and deploy the same

Hi Mahesh..

You can access from the server itself. yu need perform network configurations like messa hos and server port in those systems. Thts enough..

Hi

Yes you can access a server in different host using nwds in different host in a network connection. Only think you need to know the host name of server and message server port
