Issue Storage Location Determination in Planned Order (PP Discrete no REM)

I would like to know if there is an exit/enhancement that would have my planned orders determine the issue storage location for components based on the work center PSA, exactly as SAP does when creating a production order (Note 137225). We do not use REM by the way.

My users are trying to use a variation of MF60 (a custom z report) but are not able to see demand for the proper storage location until the production orders for the downstream work centers are created which is a little late for this particular business case. So, as is standard, SAP will contain one storage location in RESB for planned orders yet another storage location (The proper one) in RESB for production orders.

We use lead time scheduling during MRP so our work center data is available in the planned order.

One solution is for me to go update all of the assemblies where these parts are used with the proper production storage location in the bill of material, but it just seemed hokey to me to try to maintain consistency between the BOM for the planned order and the work center PSAs that will drive the production order storage locations.

Sorry for the long winded question and thanks for any help.

What I understand from your question is that you need shortage of parts to be generated Work centre wise or Production supply area wise? RRight. One solution which I foresee in standard SAP is to use PP-WM interface. My idea is to use Automatic Quantity Reduction for the respective Fixed Bin in PSA. The configuration allows you to create transfer requirement on the release of production order. Based on that manual or Auto Transfer order can be created for material staging. When you use Automatic Qty Reduction for fixed Bins in WM, TR will consider the qty of fixed Storage bin in PSA.If there is already a stock at psa, no Transfer order will be created corresponding to production order BOM items. If there is deficit of Qty in Storage Bin, TO will be created in consideration with Stock in storage bin - your TR qty. In this way, a balanced amount of replenishment elements are generated with PP WM interface. You will find lot of scn threads to find pp wm interface. But remember Qty Reduction happens only for fixed Bins not for Dynamic storage bins. Control cycle and supply area creation are mandatory for this interface for operationalization.

    Hi David,

Please check EXIT_SAPLCOSD_001 under enhancement PPCO0005.The exit FM has SAP documentation as well.

It enables you to manipulate data based on business logic/code.

Create CMOD project implementation for the exit to trigger properly.
