negative stock

I want to use negative stock; I have created a material and use "negative stock". I have created an initial stock of 100 pieces. I tried to exit form stock 101 pieces and it doesn't work; should't this work? or how does negative stock work?

First, I set "Allow negative stock" in plant and in storage location and second I set "Negative stock" in material master record.

I tried to remove from the stock more quantity then my stock, and it gives me 3 warning messages, i confirmed them with Enter and after that I was able to save the document;

I have done the customizing in SPRO, I have selected negative stock in material master and when i make a good issue, still doesn't work. It teels me that i have insuficcient stock for that material. What do I do wrong, or what can I do to make this work.

Hi,

What price control are you using (MAP or Std price)and what release of SAP are you using.

In the earlier releases (certainly before 4.7) you cannot have negative stocks for MAP materials.

Hi,

Check the message number that you are getting and try to make this a warning instead of an error.

But if you have set the negative stock flags correctly you should not need this.

Did you configure the flag for the Plant and storage location level in config (remembering that at the plant level you specify which stock types can allow negative postings)

Hi

To work with negative stocks, you have to:

1.explicitly allow this in the Customizing system for each valuation area and storage location (SPRO--> MM --> IM and Physical inventory --> Goods Issue/Transfer posting --> Allow Negative stocks)

2.set the indicator Neg. stocks in plant in the material master record of the individual materials (storage data)

Negative stocks are allowed for special stocks if you have activated negative stocks in the valuation area and for the special stock concerned in the plant. You do not need to activate negative stocks in each material master record.
