Gurus,

I am trying to create an iput ready query. I have included all the characteristics of the Aggregation level in the query and given single selection conditions. I could see only one record after I execute my query, but its not ready for input. Please suggest me where I am deviating.

Thanks.

Hello,

Do you have any messages? like 'data locked by... ID' or 'free characteristics...'.

Also, check a few simple things which might have been missed like marking the key figure or query to be input ready.

Let me know if that helps.

Hi,

First execute your query in the designer (because for example in BEX analyser your query could be in display mode) and check whether it is ready for input.

2) If not ready for input, check all characteristics of your aggregation level (your query must be defined on a aggregation level!) are in the lead columns or rows, or have a unique value via the filter.

3) your key figures should have aggregation type summation (check definition info-object)

4) your key figures should not be a calculated key figure.

if not, please provide details of your aggregation level and the definition of your planquery.

Hi,

I checked all and they are fine. I have included all the chars from the aggregation level into my query filter and restricted to single values using fixed values. If I see the data in the Actuals cube with the same restriction as of my query, I could see only one record and which is same as my query data. But still I am not able to enable my query as input ready. Please guide me in this. In my restrictions to the chars in the query, I have given '#' to few of my chars, does this matters!

Thanks.

Hi,

could you list all your characteristics of your aggregation level and explain in full detail how your query is built.

-> did you run your planquery via the query designer? I presume you also checked that your key figures have been set relevant for planning.

Hi,

In my aggregation level, a filter has been defined. My question is if in the filter(aggregation level) a restriction is defined suppose on fiscal year = 2006, can we create a plan query and change the plan data for fiscal year = 2007/2008?

If you use that filter for your query you can only change data as specified in your filter, so 2006 in your case ...

you will be able to change data only for 2006.

Can you explain why you want to do that (keep only 2006 in filter and change figures for 2007/2008)?

If I dont use the Aggregation level filter in my query, can I change the Plan data which falls outside the Aggregation level filter values?

I have removed the filter in the Aggregation Level, but even then I am not able to enable the input ready option!

Hi Madhu,

just another question - which SP do you use? There were problems in earlier SP´s with the naviagtion attributes.

Did you also do selections ob chars like InfoProvider, currency and similar units?

Hi Ram,

with htese SPS there should be not problems, just to be sure, you could start using all Nav-Attributes also in your Query.

I suppose you have already checked that your key figures are set to plannable, that the query ist set to plannable.

Are you showing system messages? Are there any when you open the Template or Workbook?

Are you maybe locking yourself because you show the data also in the planning modeler?

Otherwise I suggest you start building you query fresh from scratch.

First use all characteristics in the lines and collumns, if this works, then start building restricted key figures and filter in the way you really need it.

filter - reminds me - do you use maybe the same char in both areas on the filter section of the query (I don´t know what it is called in english, I mean the first tab in query builder)? please use and restrict each char only in one of these areas.

hope this helps.

Hi,

I don't want to be rude, but 90% of these kind of questions are caused because of incorrect filters ... So to help this discussion please provide us full details of filter and aggregation level.

Make one or more of your variables a mandatory field (Mandatory check box).

thanks.

Hi,

I dont have any variables in my query. Do we need to have atleast one variable which is mandatory to make input ready option enabled!

hi Madhu,

you need at least one variable in your query to have the variable selection screen displayed, from query designer right click your characteristic and 'restrict' and choose 'variables', or drag one from left side (expand characteristic) and drop to the characteristic in your query. not necessary the variable is mandatory input, 'optional' also ok, depend on your user requirement.

hope this helps.

Hi,

But why do we need a variable?I can fetch a unique record with out using a variable rite?

Hi,

If you need to a query which has to ask the user to enter particular value/s to a particular characterstic/s ,while excuting it, then we need to take variables in the Query.
