TextPayload or XmlPayload in Module development of Receiver Adapter

Hi,

Can anyone let me whether should I use TextPayload or XmlPayload to read the content in Module development of JMS receiver adapter.

Any additional information on how to read content in JMS Receiver adapter using java (i.e, Module development) is really appreciated.
