hi,

structures can also be defined in the Data Dictionary. As you might expect, a structure is a series of fields grouped together under a common name. It is very similar to a table. Like a table, it can be used within a program on the tables statement to define a work area.

Hi,

Any Abap Program contains 1) Attributes like Title,created by ,changed by,type ( means whether it is Module pool Program or Executable program ),Application (means Sales and distribution,FI,Co ,MM..)

2) Sorce code to be executed ( here application logic will be written with the help of Events like Initailization,selection -screen events,Start-of-selection,end-of-selection.)

3)any variants saved (suppose if we executed program with particular selection criteria and we want to save that selection criteria for next time with some name and next time we can easily execute by choosing relevant variant )

4) Text elements (supposne if we are running one particular langauge and it to be executed in many other langauges also then we will maintain text elemensts in those langauges also)

5) Documentation for the program so that next review or modification will be easy

A structure is a logically-connected set of fields. It is a data object containing a sequence of any data types. Structures can be flat, deep, or nested.

Deep Structure

A structure that contains an internal table as a component

Flat Structure

Structure consisting only of elementary data types.

Nested Structure

A structure that itself contains a structure as a component

A normal executable program will have followig events.(But none of them are mandatory for a simple program).
