Hi,

Can anybody tell me that how to activate Budget Availability Control for Maintenance Order ? For Internal orders, it is already activated but for Maintenance Order (Category 30, type PM01), it is not activated.

Please tell the procedure for activation for the same.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

I wonder if this possible. But normal procedure for maintenance budgets, is creating a project structure in PS and budget this. When creating a PM order you can link this order (automatically) to the proper WBS-element. Costs that will be made on this PM order are checked against the budget of the WBS-element.

Dear Paul,

Thanks for your reply.

In my case, Order has been assigned to Position under Investment program.

So, Budget availability is working for Internal Order.

What you have written, does that mean that for getting Budget availability control activated, I need to define WBS in PS ? Presently I am not using PS. So, is there any other way so that I can activate Budget availability control for my Maintenance Order?

Thanks and Regards

Hi Satadal,

What I have written is a way of working to have budget control in place for PM-orders. The availability check takes place on WBS-level, but it is extended to the PM-order due to the link between WBS and PM-order.

You could use investment management for budgetting PM-orders. In the past this was not very usefull, because the automatic linking of an order to an investment line was not very elaborated in SAP. For linking PM-orders to a WBS-element a user-exit is available to build all the necessary linking logic.

I think it is not possible to combine investment management with WBS budget control methodology.

Hi Ghosh

I am in line with Paul's views. Else you can controll through FM (Fund Management). Please check with your FICO consultant if your implementing FM.

Enjoy SAP....
