How to change a universe for a query when the old universe has already been deleted

We have a report that is using a universe that has been deleted, when I try to change the universe I get the error message "You are not authorized to use this universe. (UX0003). This message whilst true because the universe no longer exists, is not helpful, I am not trying to use this universe, I am trying to change it to the new universe, but whenever I click the ... next to the universe it comes up with the error and doesn't let me change it. Is there any way to change it? We are using XI

Please restore the original universe from a backup! The webi report will look for this universe by a cuid (unique ID) and all objects within the Universe by cuid. This is your best option.

The only way that I'm aware that you can do this is by creating a shell of the original universe - same name, etc. - then altering its CUID to reflect that of the original universe (assuming you can find it).

Are you using the Administrator when editing report ?
This could be rights issue, not due to universe being missing.
