Can we select multiple freight units and put planning block on them in one click?

I need to put planning block on large number of freight unit. Is it possible that i can do the same without opening the freight units one by one?

    Dear Ankit,

I think your requirement is to do this in POWL transaction Planning -> Freight Units -> Overview Freight Units.

In this POWL there is indeed no button to set a planning block, however if I choose the button "Set Country- Specific ACS Status" I have the option to set a block (don't know if it's planning or execution block) if I choose Country DE, Not secure. One option is to find the logic behind it and create some custom development (what are the risks? People might set huge volumes by accident on Planning block, what will be the impact?

Another way to influence planning status might be the "Organizational Interation" (OI), these buttons can be activated in the transportation Cockpit, I believe it must be possible to set a planning block as consequence of OI, don't know the exact details but search for "Organizational Interaction" and "TM" and you will find the SAP documentation.

A third way, and maybe the best way, is to use event management, by booking events it also must be possible to influence in the planning status. I don't know the exact reason for the requirement but some kind of Event must happen why you want to set them on planning block. There is also some standard SAP functionality I believe e.g. if the credit limit check fails on ECC site the planning or execution block is set on the DTR, which is propagated to the FU, however I am not 100% sure.

At last, but least pretty, option might be to write you own program and execute it when required in SE38, there is already a standard program "/SCMTMS/DETERMINE_EXEC_STATUS" maybe this can be the basis for your customer development.

I'm curious which solution you have found and implemented.

    Kind regards,

    Benno Mateman

Thanks Benno. I tried with OIs.

Set the OI-Status of relevant freight unit stages to "Confirm". (There are 3 options available: Confirm, Reject and Set to Confirmed with Deviations by Carrier.). Still the FUs are visible in the cockpit and not blocked.

    Hi Ankit,

One idea, may not be fully correct, you can plan all those FU's on a dummy Freight order/Freight booking and Block the Freight Order/Freight Booking.

    • Hi,

I think there can be 2 solution options for this problem.

      1. If you are on TM 9.3 or higher, Use the stage profile logic in OTR to split the stage and making the Stage 2 always "Not relevant for Planning".

      2. In case Solution 1 is not possible, you may need to enhance the stage split logic to have always the 2nd stage have a planning block or build an report or POWL for mass blocking it.

      Best Regards

    Hi Ankit,

As far as i know FU powl does not have any such button to perform this action,

however you can select multiple FU's and cancel them in a single go.

    One more idea :

You can open all FU's in BOBT by adding as many rows you want and can execute suitable action to perform this activity.( You may have to find proper action related to stages (STOP) as planning blocks are imposed on per stage not on the whole document.)

      Thanks Gurbhej,

But is it possible by any means that the FU stages can be blocked on transportation cockpit?

Or, is it possible to filter the freight units on the basis of stage IDs , so that we could put the block ?

      Regards,

      Ankit
