Reconstructing Planning Request... URGENT

Former Member

Hello everyone,

In a real-time cube (BI 7.0), if we delete the data using the delete data option (right click on the cube and select delete data); how can we get the data back?

This is very urgent... please reply soon... points will be awarded.

Thanks

Hi Mayank,

if your original data an the delete data records are all in the same request, I do not see any chance for recovery.

if you had closed the request before running the delete function, you just have to delete the request in the cube.

Cornelia,

Your suggestiong would work only if deletion was performed using planning function. If I understand the question correctly deletion was performed using BW delete function and not planning function.

Just to update this thread. It is not (yet) possible to recover data in such scenarios (except from system backup which is not convenient). So the best practice is to create backup cubes/DSOs for planning data and keep updating them regularly, maybe using a process chain.

Mayank,

I suspected that it would not be possible to reconstruct a request with plan data (inputed using input-queries) from a real-time cube. However I wanted to be sure before I gave you an answer. Unfortunately I am afraid that it would not be possible to recover this data when deleted using "Delete Data" in the context menu of a cube.

If you find otherwise, please update the post.
