ECC Migration to HANA - Classical SWPM vs DMO

Hi,

We are currently planning a migration of our ECC system to Suite on HANA. Some key points are:

  • There is no upgrade being performed (we are currently on ECC6 EHP7 SPS9).
  • We are also moving data centres (from on-premise to Azure)

We have been considering using the DMO tool, especially since with SP19 and SP20 it has introduced "DMO without System Update" and "DMO with system move" scenarios...however I'm still really trying to work out whether using DMO and these scenarios provides any significant benefits when compared with the classical SWPM migration approach.

If anyone has any experience or viewpoint it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Todd
