Determine the least price in billing

Hi All

I have a requirement where at the time of billing we have to charge the least price. SAP has the functionality to redetermine the prices at the time of billing but this new price has to be applied only if its less than the price in the order. So we have to charge the customer either the Sales order price or current price which ever is lower.

While you have not explained in which Business process, the sale order price and billing would be different and that too how frequent it is, through standard, it is not possible. You need to add the required logic in VOFM and assign to your pricing condition type.

ps:- if you search with the text "least price in billing" in Google, you will get a blog from which, you can take the inputs

    • I mean basically there might be a price change after the SO creation and if the current price is lower than the sales order price then this new price should be applied .If the current price is greater than the price in Sales order, sales order price should be considered.

So in VOFM i have to create a new requirement for pricing and assign that to the condition type in the pricing procedure.

Other options i am thinking about is

1.can we purse an option where we create a new pricing type which is the combination of B and G .

We first compare the SO price against the current price of the material and then determine if if we have to copy it from sales order as per G or redetermine as per B

      2. can we create a new pricing category by copying L but add a logic only to redetermine the pricing condition if the price of the material is less than the price in the sales order.

      3. As kamlesh suggest use condition exclusion.

Please suggest which one will be more effective

      thanks

    • Hi Kamlesh

Yes i have considered the condition exclusion functionality but the downside of that is we have to maintain the condition records for 2 different condition types.

So to use the condition exclusion i have to create a new condition type PR01 similar to PR00 and PR01 will have the condition category L and add these to the exclusion group and chose the least value. Since PR01 has condition category L, even though the pricing type is G this condition type will be redetermined (have to check if pricing type is G and condition category is L PR01 will be redetermined or not) and exclusion will kick in and inactive the highest price condition type

can you please elaborate if you are thinking something different.

And also is it advisable to create anew pricing type which will be the combination of B and G . Compare SO price and current material price and then the program decides G or B

      thanks
