Hi experts,

I am trying to import a track from NWDI to NWDS (7.0) but am getting the error:

com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSUnexpectedException:
Unable to open connection to host "jmfgwsd3:50000". The IP address of
the host could not be resolved. Maybe the URL is misspelled or the host does no longer exist.

The SLD ping is successful as seen below.

I also checked the SLD directly via https://192.168.248.44:50000/sld and it is already setup.

The IP Address has been added in my hosts file as well, as seen as below

(will this work without a domain?)

# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
#	127.0.0.1 localhost
#	::1             localhost
192.168.248.44

I am able to see the list of tracks in the server after selecting remote as the source, but get the error message when proceeding to download.

I am curious as well as to why the SLD URL provided to me is "192.168.248.44" but the error message states "jmfgwsd3"?

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Vey

Hi Jun,

Yes, I am unsure as well if it would work.

This is the first time I am given an SLD without a host name, and the portal is accessed via IP address only as well.

Please advise.

you host file should be something like that.

Hi Jun,

I have updated the host file as instructed.

I also tried changing the SLD from http://192.168.248.44:50000 to http://jmfgwsd3:50000 and both where successful with the ping test.

I am now getting this new error message when trying to download a track (using either entries in SLD URL):

Googling this error, I do not see anyone who have experienced the same. :(

What do I need to check from here?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Vey

is sld and nwdi in the same server?

Hi Jun,

No, NWDI is installed in another server - http://172.16.108.13:50000

give it a try.

Hi Jun,

Same result.

To verify that CMS is existing, I checked on /devinf for both 192.168.248.44 and 172.16.108.13.

I was able to access http://172.16.108.13:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc~SL~CMS~WebUI/Cms and saw the tracks there.

/devinf did not exist in 192.168.248.44, confirming that it is just for the SLD, and NWDI is installed in 172.16.108.13.

Still unsure why the error is "Not Found" as I can clearly access CMS via browser.

I will be forwarding this concern to our security team to help check if they know any firewall concerns I should know.

If you know anything else we can check, I'd highly appreciate.

Thanks,

Vey

I would like to encourage you to use only FQDN. The SLD url should contain the FQDN, not just the host.

***

FQDN, or Fully Qualified Domain Name, is the full name of a system,
rather than just its hostname. For example, "venera" is a hostname,
   and "venera.isi.edu" is an FQDN.
