AcceptClientCertWithoutSSL

Hi,

Does anyone have experience of using the AcceptClientCertWithoutSSL parameter in the portal?

We currently have an HTTPS portal, authenticating with Client Certificates. We would like to put Web Dispatcher in front of the portal and use it to terminate the SSL. I see in the SAP documentation that I can set AcceptClientCertWithoutSSL to true, so that the portal will accept a client certificate forwarded in an HTTP header by the Web Dispatcher.

My question is how is the client certificate requested from the browser? Currently the request-certificate settings are made in the SSL Provider service on the portal. If the portal connections are now HTTP (from the Web Dispatcher), how do I set the request-certificate settings? Or do I have to configure the Web Dispatcher to request the certificate instead?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

Jane
