Hello All,
Today, we had a meeting with a customer in Korea.
The customer project team asked if Chinese employees of the company in China can have access to the BYD system which is located in data center in Sydney, Australia.
The reason why they asked the question is that China starts enforcing a new cybersecurity law. According to this law, companies store their data within China, and impose security checks on companies in sectors like finance and communications.
Give the situation above, I have some questions about the data center in China.
1. If customer’s Chinese employees in China has access to the BYD system which is located in Sydney in Australia to create, read, updated, delete (CRUD) transactions, does this violate the new cybersecurity law?
2. If yes, do we need to use the China data center instead of Australia data center? Can a customer use China data center?
3. Can a customer change a data center from Australia to China?
Best Regards,
Junghwan Park
