What is Ad-hoc report and how to create it

Can any body tell me What is Ad-hoc report and how to create it

Usually, as part of the project the team will develop some reports and transported to the production system. Any report that the users create in production system is called ad hoc report.

Ad hoc reports are created using Bex query designer like any other BW report.

Adhoc Queries will created on Fly in the Production Box either from Bex or Web.

In BI 7.0, we can use Most of the Bex Functionality in Web as well. In 3.X, we can't use all the functionality.

you will create your own adhoc report when you criteria does not meet with the delivered sap reports..

on every cube sap delivers some reports, and if reports are not meeting the requirements you are looking for then you will create your own report which is adhoc report

With the help of Adhoc Queries, you are giving flexibility to End User to Create Queries on Fly.

Typically, we call them as Super Users for BI.

Most of the Queries will be created by Developers at Implementation Phase. Super users will create small Queries using Adhoc Queries.

Note: It shouldn't be the case for all Clients. Some Clients they won't use this.
