A discussion that would be useful,

The performance is based on Multiple Parameters.

- Sizing/Hardwares

- Volume in peak hours

- Type of Interfaces - Sync/Async etc

There is a Tuning guide from SAP. to tell about different parameters etc Have a look into this.
