How do I fix a table linking problem? Says the table can't be found but looks like it is linked?

I get an error message in my report that states the tables can't be found and asking if I want the table removed. I look under the database tab and it looks like the table is linked. What's my problem?

    Hi Sue,

    When does this happen? When you are linking the tables or running the report?

    Do you have a field from each of the tables on the report?

    Make sure the account you are logging into the database with has read/write permissions to the tables.

    If you create a new report with one of the tables, and drop a field or two on the report, does it work?

    If you add another table and drop a field on, does that work?

    Crystal Reports keeps an image of the DB connection and tables and fields you designed the report with. When you open the report it may try to connect to the DB to verify the DB info has not changed, if it did change it will ask you if you want to remove it.

    So it may simply be a timing issue, when you log on or not and when you look at the links and if you then verify the database.

    So it may say it can't be found because either it no longer exists in the Database, someone changed it, or you no longer have permission to access the table, CR fully supports DB permissions.

    So we need to know what steps you are doing when you get that message?

    Or, open the report, log onto the database, then click on Database, Verify DB menu option. If tells you something has changed then check what changed with your DBA.

    And do as Brian suggests, create anew report using the table it says has changed, see if it's even in the list. If it is then compare the old report with the new report and look for missing up updated or changed fields.
