can anybody send the link to ale/idoc creation ?
and for
idoc monitoring, idoc extension and idoc reduction?
Creating a new idoc type.
1. Analyze the data.
Try to make a rough documentation on a piece of paper about the data that you are going to transfer between two processes. Separate
the similar fields and put them in a segment. Group similar segments in a segment group. Creat parent child relations if any segment
dependent data is there.
Complete the process that to be followed by using this data in a custom function module or abap program.
2. Create data elements.
Create data elements if necessary. Many of the times if u r using sap related data, then data elements will be already available. If they are
not available then you create a data element in se11 transaction.
3. Create a segment by going to transaction WE31. it is a segment creating editor which looks like your table creating screen..more
or less same kind of look.
4. go to we31 and give some segment name and click on create button. A segment definition will automatically created by sap.
5. Create the basic idoc type. For this got o transaction WE30. give a idoc name starting with Z. and select radio button create new
idoc type, click on create button. Give the segment names that you have created earlier in we31 transaction. When you give one segment
and save, and before creating second segment, it will prompt you whether this second segment to be in the same level or child level. Give
accordingly all the details and clicl on create/save.
6. all the segments will be assigned to your new idoc type.
7. Release the idoc type. Once everything is ready then we need to release them so that it can be transported and will be tested.
First release segments and then idoc type. To release a segment got to we31 enter the segment name, and click edit-set release. It will be
automatically released.
8. to release an idoc type, got o we30, give the idoc type name and go to edit-setrelease. Your idoc will be released. One they are
released, they can not be modified. If u need to modify, then you need to cancel the release procedure and then modify.
9. you can transport the segments and idocs from their transaction we30/we31 also. Remember on thing that, if you transport a idoc,
segment will not be transported. But if u transport a segment then related segment definitions and documentation will be transported.
Extending basic idoc type.
1. Extending basic idoc type also needs a basic study like what is permitted and what is not permitted. Analyze the data and
create a segment with the new fields and assign to the basic idoc type. You also need to analyze the existing function modules
associated with the idoc type and look if there is any user exit available for the idoc type, then you can add segment to the idoc.
2. Create custom segments. You know how to create a segment we31. if u r assigning 2 fields to this custom segment, first create
data elements for the 2 fields and then create segment with the two fields.
Create idoc extension.
1. Got to transaction we30, give a meaningful name for the idoc extension and select the radio button extension and click on
create. This extension name need not start with Z. system will ask you to enter reference segment name, here u need to enter a the
segment name to which u want to extend. Then the system informs u that this segment is added as a child element.
Create the idoc type.
Creating the idoc type is nothing but adding the basic idoc type and the extension together. Go to idoc editor we30 and then give
some idoc name, meaningful name that starts with Z. give the basic idoc type and the extension name and click on create icon.
Now release the custom segment and idoc extension.
Transport the segment, idoc definition and idoc type.
reward points if useful.

Hi
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form

Step 1. EDI Subsystem creates an IDoc file from EDI Messages
2. Subsystem calls Functional Module EDI_DATA_INCOMING from startRFC program.
3. Data in Control Record is validate against the Partner Profile.
4. IDoc is generated in Database and syntax check is carried out.
5. IDoc file is deleted once file read.

7. Check for Process Immediately.
If NO
Execute RBDAPP01 Program
Else
Read Process Code from Partner Profile

Try this..Hope this will help.
>>>> SAP ALE & IDOC<<<<
Steps to configuration(Basis) >>
1. Create Logical System (LS) for each applicable ALE-enabled client
2. Link client to Logical System on the respective servers
3. Create background user, to be used by ALE(with authorizaton for ALE postings)
4. Create RFC Destinations(SM59)
5. Ports in Idoc processing(WE21)
6. Generate partner profiles for sending system
The functional configuration(Tcode: SALE)
Create a Customer Distribution Model (CDM);
Add appropriate message types and filters to the CDM;
Generate outbound partner profiles;
Distribute the CDM to the receiving systems; and
Generate inbound partner profiles on each of the clients.
Steps to customize a new IDoc >>>
1. Define IDoc Segment (WE31)
2. Convert Segments into an IDoc type (WE30)
3. Create a Message Type (WE81)
4. Create valid Combination of Message & IDoc type(WE82)
5. Define Processing Code(WE41 for OUT / WE42 for IN)
6. Define Partner Profile(WE20)
Important Transaction Codes:
SALE - IMG ALE Configuration root
WE20 - Manually maintain partner profiles
BD64 - Maintain customer distribution model
BD71 - Distribute customer distribution model
SM59 - Create RFC Destinations
BDM5 - Consistency check (Transaction scenarios)
BD82 - Generate Partner Profiles
BD61 - Activate Change Pointers - Globally
BD50 - Activate Change Pointer for Msg Type
BD52 - Activate change pointer per change.doc object
BD59 - Allocation object type -> IDOC type
BD56 - Maintain IDOC Segment Filters
