Plz tell me is it necessary to maintain data in T code J1Id.Why?

Hi Sandeep,

we need to maintain the master details like chapter ID, material combination and excise details of the vendor material combination. If u dont maintain the above then you will not get the excise tab while doing transactions. It means the material is not subjected to excise.

Hello

It is required to maintain the entries in J1ID if the material is excisable, otherwise the 'Excise' tab will not appear while doing MIGO.

All modules in SAP are closly integrated together. The data entry by one module in useful for other modules.

Normally authorization for J1ID transaction is given to Excise dept.

They have to enter the Chapter ID for the material. This chapter ID also appears in MIGO screen.

Excise dept also have to enter the type of the material i.e. Raw Material or Capital Material. This classification helps while claiming the modvat/cenvat.

In addition to the above replies, the net assesable value is also maintained in J1ID which is picked during some transactions..
