SAP VC Dev in NW2004 environment

I need to develop some SAP VC apps using stored procedure with oracle as backend, and we'll be using NW2004 platform / EP6 .

I would like to know does anybody using NW2004s to develop SAP VC application and transport to NW2004 in prod.

If yes , how successful / easier it is , in comparison to use NW2004 to develop & same for Prodcution.

Any guidance on development of sap vc models in nw2004 environmnet will be much appreciated.

Hi Ajay,

Baiscally, it summs up to taking the deployed par file that is the product of the model you crested in 04s and deploying it on your 04 system. After that, you can create translation worklists and that's about it.

I would like to know :

1) Why should anyone choose NW2004s to develop VC model, while the production environment is NW2004 ?

2) What is the best practice for creating the VC model for NW2004 prodcution.

a) develop in NW2004S and deploy to NW2004 production .

b) develop in NW2004 and deploy to NW2004 production .

Hi Ajay,

VC 7.0 (on NW04s) is the currently supported AND maintained release (regarding bug fixes and new features. You may also use VC 6.0 which is a very old release and it's only maintained for bug fixes and general OSS messages. This means no new features and also you don't have the new cool stuff you have on VC 7.0.

I recommend developing on NW04s and using the application on NW04.

Presntly I am working onNetweaver 2004s (sps13)and 2004(sp21) .

but i did not i understand your question.
