Loading more than 65536 records in to Bw using Excel

Hi,

I am loading data in to BW using flatfiles , as I have huge amount of data i.e more than 65536 records as excel supports to load only 65536 records , is there any way to upload all my records in to BW

if your files are on application server

select load files from application server in external tab in infopackage.

Hi Priya,

You have 2 options:

1. Split the flat file into smaller files.

2. You can create the ".csv"or ".txt" using wordpad or notepad where you canhave more than 65536 records.

Thanks for ur response

If I save it in txt format what is the seperator needs to be used,generally for csv we use , and ;can i load data in to bw from MS-Access,if so is there any restriction for no. of records

hi Priya,

use excel 2007

use other text editor like TextPad ...

for txt format load, check Eugene's weblog

maybe use ms-sql if you have, and load with db connect

If I use Excel 2007 what would be the limit for no.of records,wont there be any limit Please let me know

hi Priya,

the limit is 1,048,576 rows.

Hi,

do not use excel store your data with notepad or another texteditor
