SAP XI career

hi folks,

I want to get into sap Xi career.

I have one year core java exp.

If i have average knowledge in sap R3 ABAP programming and cross applications, is it good decision to go far certification in SAP XI then get the job easily?

how is the present and future sap xi job market in USA ?

if i have certification in sap xi (good knowldege also), will i get job with out exp. in sap xi?

AFAIK, USA market is not tht progressive, as supply is morethan the demand, whereas in UK market is gud.

two things, you can't appear certification directly, as you dn't have pre-requisite experient but you can attend the SAP-XI training from SAP and can appear. Remember, chance are less to get a job, without experience. I am not discouraging you, put your effort to learn both ABAP and XI then try ur look.

I think in the US, XI will start becoming very important for businesses.

I work at a fortune 100 company, and in the last year they've decided that XI is the best option for business integration. This company has been using another program so far but have decided that since XI is SAP's own solution to the integration problem, it would be best to use it. I think you will start too see many more companies taking this route in the future, so XI will become more important.

I personally have very little experience with SAP, but do have a good Java background. I think that java is a very important part of XI, probably more so than knowledge of the SAP systems themselves. That because XI works mostly with the integration of systems and SAP is just one of those systems to be integrated.

I have also used almost no ABAP with the XI work I have been doing, although there is probably some aspects of XI that I might need to use it on in the future.

I hope this helps you out a little.

JAVA is must for SAP XI...

In your case if u go for XI that would be better decision

A very important place where you will use JAVA in XI is while doing your Mapping. There will be cases when JAVA MAPPING is the best solution to go for. There are 2 types of Parsers available for JAVA Mapping. DOM Parser and SAX parser.
