Can't we display the Extract strucutre of the Master data datasource?

Hi,

when i try to display the data source ( which is master data attribute data source ),

it is not allowing me for the display ( it says : data source xxxx is using the FM yyyy)

Is is that we cannot display the master data data sources?

Any help is highly appreciated

Hi,

use transaction RSA2 in order to get detailed information about your datasource (extract structure, function module extractor...)

You can also press enter on the warning you're getting; you'll see some information in RSO2 however this is not a generic datasource.

data source is using FM means that is generic only . right?

and i could display transactional data source with out any hassles!

Why is it not allowing me to display?

And RSA2 transaction code i cannot use in R/3 as i am not authorized for using!

Hi Ravi,

ask to get authority on RSA2; you can only display your datasources information form there (you can't change anything).

Alternatively, use RSO2 with your datasource and press enter on the warning message. RSO2 will show you the extract structure name and its function module.

Generic datasources are those created via RSO2. Business content datasources aren't generic! That's why you can't edit them via RSO2 and you get a warning...

Another way to display information displayed in RSA2 is to goto table ROOSOURCE via SE11...

That is warning press enter once you receive this message, if you want to see the fileds used in this data source click on display data source field.

Do not have idea why this message is coming....

I could now open the display screen but still i am not finding the FM name and Extract structure name in that screen !

in the previous warning message it was showing FM name ,but now that is not present in the Display of data source?

Pls suggest me!

As I told you before since you are trying to display a non-generic datasource via the generic interface, the system warns correctly. In the warning you can see the FM name, but once in the display screen you may not see anything....

the best for you is to goto SE16 / table ROOSOURCE / enter your datasource name with OBJVERS = 'A' and you will see the extract structure name as well as the function module and all the DS information.

but i want to see the field contents of the extract structure!

in the table i could see the extract structure name ! but what i need to do to see the contents of extract strucure!

as Olivier said You will get the required details in ROOSOURCE table.

GO TO RSA6 find your datasource and double click you will fid all the fields which is used in extract structure.

HI Ravi ....if you know the structure name you can go to SE11 in order to see tha fields of the structure...
