Hello,
When I try to activate transfer rules, I get the following error.
'Error with Content merge: InfoObject XXXX already in use'
It says that this infoobject has been used in other transfer rules of the same datasource.
Could someone help me out with this pls?
Regards,
Suraj
Hi Suraj,
Try activating the transfer rule again in the copy mode. Incase you havent done any customization on the transfer rule.
Thanks and Regards,
Srilatha

Hi,
What type of Transfer rules is this? Is it Master data transfer rules? If so, what exactly you want to do.
You have to remember that, one datasource can be assigned to only one Transfer rules.

Hi Nagesh,
I shall try replicating the DS and activating it again.
Hi Anil,
I know that one DS can be assigned to only one Infosource.
This is a master data transfer rule.
What's confusing me is that I have other similar transfer rules ( id, desc) for other data in which I have used the same IOBJ with no errors. This seems to be a one off case.

How that transferrules is different to your required(new that you are trying to create) transfer rules?
What do you want to do with that already created Transfer rules. One way you are saying that you know that One DS can be assigned to One TR , but at the same time you are trying to assign both IO and DESCRIPTION in 2 TRules .

Hi Srilatha,
Could you pls tell me what activating in copy mode means?
Hi Anil,
When i say i am using the same IO in two transfer rules, i mean they are for two different datasources and infosources not the same one.
Those trasnfer rules are similar to the ones i want to create.
For eg: In one DS, i might map id and desc of say, an co order to the its infosource, in other ds, i might map id and desc to some other order. The IOBJs are the same, but the DS and the IS are different, so i am not trying to assign the same IO twice in the same transfer rule

Hi,
In case of Flexible update , we can use 2 Infosources . But in case of direct update, we can not create 2 infosources(CS) which will be coneected to same Source sytem even though the datasources are different. So use Same Communication structure but 2 transfer rules .

You must check if someone else have the same infoobject changed or assigned ....this change must be in a transport request....and this is the cause that you cant modify that assignation...

Hi Anil,
I am not using the IO twice. There are just two fields to be mapped, an id and a description. The error's occuring while mapping the description.
Hi Nagesh,
I used the same IOBJ for other transfer rules as well and there was no error. If the error is due to a change in IOBJ assigned to a request, I should have got the error for other transfer rules as well right?

Suraj
I have mapped the same infoobject in other transfer rules for other datasources and there has been no error. It seems to be happening only with this one particular datasource.
