Triggering workflow from messages

Hi Friends..

I want information about..

How can i trigger workflow from mail messages..

Depends on mail message it will trigger different workflow..

for that purpose what can i do..

hai,

go to trans swuy.the wizard will open.

1)under start give continue then

2)enter message - it will ask the area and message no.

(under any messages double click it and then select technical information it gives u the area and message no.)

type the area and msg no and then continue.

3) complete-complete the wizard and save it.

then workflow template change screen will appear.in basic data tab select workflow builder. it will open workflow builder and then u design ur workflow according to ur requirements.

Hi Aditya and Rose thanks for your reply..

My exact requirment is i want to trigger an workflow from messages..

For example user design one module after creating material message comes to user inbox, the message type may be

1)Material created successfully

2)material having some error..

Depends upon the mail message it want to trigger different workflow in that purpose what can i do..

Plz explain about that..

Hi Shankar,

<u><b>Starting Workflows from Messages</b></u> Whenever an error message is sent to a screen, a user can see the long text.

If a workflow is configured to start from error message, a Start Workflow button is added to the error message long text screen.

Linking Workflow to Error Message Wizard “Create Workflow-Message Linkage” has to be used. Transaction: SWUY (Definition Tools --> Wizards ---> Create “Call Workflow From Message”

E.g. While viewing material master data, a business person notices that some data has to be updated. They can start the workflow that notifies the concerned person about that.

System Administrator can start the workflow via SWUS, though he/she is not a possible agent.

Hi GP,

Are you sending the message-1,2 based on some indicator that you get from your BOR Methods ?

If Yes, then you can call the Workflow through your BOR Method itself.

If you found an indicator 'X' in your BOR Method, which is Success, then after this code enter the FM where you call another WF.

Hope I was clear with my suggestion.

I think this will be difficult, if not impossible, to do automagically based on the e-mail messages that come into the user's inbox. However, there have been discussions before in this forum about e-mail processing, so try and find those. You may find valuable information there.
