Dear All,
I have a characteristic Pack Size which holds numbers. I have a quantity keyfigure. When i use BEx query designer , I want to make a formula column "volume" = "pack size * quantity". Can we use characteristics while making formula column? If not is there any way where I can change characteristic pack size into key figure in Query designer?

In addition to that: make sure you have pack size in rows/ free chars and set to no display.otherwise you will not get values for formula variable on packetsize.

Hi Ratish,
Create variable on the basis of characteristics "Pack Size" and make the processing by option of variable to "Replacement path" , This will make sure that run time query copies value of characteristics.
Finally create calculated key figure ,formula on the key figure which looks like
Pack size(replacement path) * Qty.
Hope that helps.
