R3load runs very slowly on AIX 5.3.3 with db2 V9.1 LPAR SMT

Hi Guys,

we are starting a heterogeneous systemcopy on an AIX 5.3.3 with LPAR and 20 parallel processes.

SAP Release 4.6C

db2 V9.1 FP1

Configuration

System Model: IBM,9133-55A

Machine Serial Number: 0629B7H

Processor Type: PowerPC_POWER5

Number Of Processors: 10

Processor Clock Speed: 1648 MHz

CPU Type: 64-bit

Kernel Type: 64-bit

LPAR Info: 1 p55200_P55

Memory Size: 30720 MB

Good Memory Size: 30720 MB

Platform Firmware level: SF240_299

Firmware Version: IBM,SF240_299

Console Login: enable

Auto Restart: true

Full Core: false

The first 12 (13) parallel processes running well. But after them the R3load startet to create indexes.

The R3load runs slowly.

We are stopping the R3SETUP, stopping Database, Rebooting the System and Restarting the R3setup with 20 parallel processes.

The System were not faster.

We are repeat the action before and restarting with 10 parallel processes.

The computer running whitout bottleneck, without full speed,

The only things that the memory was used abaut 80%.

Please help us to solve the problem.

Because on another computer with AIX5.3.3 LPAR SMT 8GB the R3load runs faster.

Memory 2 CPUS (4 virtuell)
