construction of the extractor.
Sometimes it is one table, sometimes there are several
See f.e. structure of extractors in LO cockpit.

It all depends on your Requirement,
For Example:
We will create View if we have common key for Two Table
When we want to extract data from multiple tbales...(more than one table..) and those tables having ONE- TO MANY relationship. then we select this functionmodule extractions..

Depending on the requirement it can be on n number of tables then u have to create a view on these tables and then create a Generic data source and then the normal steps of creating source system,Creating infoproviders,Data source on BI side,Infopackage to get data into PSA,Transformations,DTP and exectution of DTP
