Dear Experts,

My client wants to mov to the new payroll cycle from existing 1-30 to 26-25 and they want to process the whole month salary. Eg: they already processed 1-30th June, and they wanted to move to new payroll which is obviously 26th June -25th of July. since the payroll has been accounted till 30th for June month, the current payroll will run only for 25 days i.e. 01-July-2017 to 25th July, now they wanted to pay the full month salary.. pls. advice how to achieve this.

Here, i have created few WT's based on taxable and non taxable and also for ESI and PF basis

1. 9124 - Baisc Pay

2. 9125 - Spl allowance

3. 9126- Other arrears

i have grouped the rest of WT's in other arrears. Pls. find the attached PCR too, if an employee is having 1 day LOP then its not calculating appropriate amount.

Hence i need advice to arrive per day salary based on calendar days so that i will multiply the amount with the additional payment WT (where i will mention the days), Pls. guide me.

Hi Vignesh,

Payroll-India solution only supports Payroll Periods from 1st to Last Day of the month. If you try to change it to some other variation of BEGDA and ENDDA, you might have problems during 24Q filing and Form 16 generation.

Hi Aman,

Thanks for your response, yes i have come to know i will be having problems with statutory & legal issues. and also the Form 16 generation. I have come across few threads that its not advisable to change the payroll from 1-30th. Even if somebody is doing, they will be paying 5 days advance salary of every month.

Is there any way around that we can process some other way by writing PCR by change in pay period level.

Pls. suggest.

Regards,

Vignesh D

Hi Vignesh,

There can be workarounds done to fulfill your requirement, but it would leave the system non-compliant with statutory forms, as the periods in Form 24Q for which you need to file the taxes are always entire months. Consequently, the output of Part-A of Form 16 would also become wrong with this kind of payroll period division.

Best Regards,

Aman
