activate the functionality to save the view for reports displayed on portal

Hi Friends. We are running at my Client BMW Sales Portal. in which we have used the web templates. I want to activate the functionality in web template to save the view for reports displayed on portal. Where should I go to change any required thing in my web template. Also please let me know if there is any OSS note that tell about the Basis Open system settings for Frontend.
