Master data update

I have a DSO which has YSHIP infoobject as shipment number.

When I load DSO, will the associated infoobject YSHIP also get populated with the values of hipments in the DSO load.

Or I have to load the infoobject seperately? Is there a way or setting to populate the values in the infooject automatically?

You only need to load to the infoobject YSHIP if it has its own attributes and/or texts (or hierarchies). In that case then you must create a datasource(s) in R/3 to extract the attributes and/or texts.

Hope this helps.

YSHIP has no text or attributes.

The data in DSO is going to be loaded to cube. If it does not have the SIDs in the infoobject, will it be possible to navigate when the data is loaded into cubes?

let me know what exactly you are trying to do

I have an existing infoobject YSHIP.

I have included that as a field in DSO. I am loading data into that DSO. But the shipment numbers which are loaded in DSO don't exist in YSHIP.

Since this data is eventually going to the cube, I will need those shipment values in YSHIP for the drilldowns to work.

To get those values in infooject YSHIP, do I need to do a seperate load of master data values in YSHIP infoobject. Is there some setting where if a shipment number is in DSO load and not in YSHIP, it will get automatically added to DSO.

HI

sachin

you have included the field in DSO, but did you map it to the source field?

if you have not mapped it you will not be able to load any data.

And if you want to fill it sepaerately.

you will have to generate a datasource in R/3 using tcode RSO2.

Then replicate it and assign it to the YSHIP.

Then you will be able to get the data for it.

hope this helps.

Mohan, what do you mean by

"you have included the field in DSO, but did you map it to the source field?"

I want to avoid laoding the data seperately. Is there a way the SID table for YSHIP will have the values of shipment numbers in DSO load.

HI

as you said below

I have included that as a field in DSO. I am loading data into that DSO. But the shipment numbers which are loaded in DSO don't exist in YSHIP.

did you map YSHIP ? to a source field ?

you need to map.

from which table is your DSO getting the data from ?

you need to have the field of the table to be mapped to YSHIP.

Hope this helps

The DSO is getting its data from a DBConnect datasource. The data source has shipment numbers coming in.

To include the shipment number in DSO, I created an infoobject YSHIP and included it in DSO.

Now I have loaded the data in DSO and the load went fine. I see the data in DSO table.

But when I look into the infoobject SID table, I see no values.

May be it is some simple thing and I am missing it.

Is the DSO been checked for repoting in the DSO settings

is the check box been ticked ?

Do you mean "SID Generation upon activation"

It is unchecked.

sid's are not generated for direct update and write optimized dso types

hope this helps
